ETIM 10.0 Revolutionizes Product Information Management

· 2024-12-10 · Updated 2026-09-23 · 1 min read

ETIM International has released ETIM 10.0. If a PIM classifies technical products on ETIM, this is a data-model change, not a label swap.

What changed

The release closes 5264 change requests and adds 119 classes. The structural addition is feature groups. Features sit in sections such as material, electrical, or dimensions, so a PIM can file a feature under a group instead of a flat list on the class.

Class grouping moved as well. Sector mergers and new products pushed classes into different groups, so a product lands where a buyer or a downstream system will actually look.

Languages

ETIM 10.0 is available in English, Dutch, German, and Swedish. Other languages follow when national ETIM organizations update their records.

IXF 3.1

The release came with an updated memo on the dynamic ETIM release format. System-to-system exchanges need IXF 3.1. Earlier IXF versions were scheduled to become obsolete in summer 2025.

The size of the diff is in the difference reports and in the online CMT tool. Plan the model change from those, not from the release note alone.
