Core
PIM and Headless Round Table
Stephan Spijkers · 2022-06-28 · Updated 2026-09-23 · 1 min read

Headless commerce replaced the single ecommerce monolith, the webshop, with a set of channels. Those include a webshop, an app, and social, and also physical endpoints such as intelligent mirrors or an Amazon Dash button. The operational question is how the right product information reaches the right channel at the right time.
Headless, and where it hurts
Headless puts commerce functions where the business needs them. A brand can deliver an API-driven experience through a CMS, an application, a device, or a custom frontend. The open question for this session is how a PIM sits in that environment, and whether the setup is a workable future or mostly extra complexity.
An open conversation
In an hour with four people from the field, the discussion is how to manage product information in headless environments: real problem cases, the fixes, and where the market is going.
