Pimberly Integrates with BigCommerce for E-commerce PIM

Pimberly, a PIM and DAM vendor, has added a product preview built on BigCommerce. From 11 September 2023, Pimberly customers and their vendors can spin up a mock storefront inside a BigCommerce shop and see the catalog the way a buyer will see it.
What the preview is for
Pimberly's side of the stack is product information across sales channels. BigCommerce supplies the shop. The point of the partnership is efficiency and scale for users: the product record on one side, the storefront on the other. Pimberly CEO Martin Balaam described the joint work with BigCommerce as a step forward for both products. Russell Klein, BigCommerce's chief commercial officer, pointed to the same aim: help merchants grow.
The two products
Pimberly is cloud software for product data and digital assets. The company presents it as able to manage an indefinite volume of SKUs, data feeds, and distribution channels, and as a place to centralize and enrich product information.
BigCommerce is a SaaS e-commerce platform for B2C and B2B brands in more than 150 countries, built to stay customizable without giving up usability. Brands on the platform include Ben & Jerry's and S.C. Johnson.
Where this sits in a PIM selection
The preview is a concrete link between the product record and the storefront: what the PIM holds is what the shop renders. That is the direction a lot of PIM work is moving, toward stacks that shorten the path from enriched data to the page a customer buys from.
Details are on Pimberly's announcement.
