"Unlocking AI's Secrets for Optimal Search Strategy"

· 2024-10-16 · Updated 2026-09-23 · 3 min read

Search strategy now has an assistant in the loop. The product information in the PIM still has to match the language people and models actually use. These five uses come from CMSWire.

Keyword research

Keyword work is clustering, then adjusting until the content uses the words customers type. An AI tool can recall earlier prompts and answers, so the team is not starting from a blank thread each time.

What to ask

Use the assistant for a niche: long-tail keywords for this business, not a generic list. Iterative questions, including with Claude, surface phrases that are relevant and less crowded, and they keep the language of the content consistent. Check every suggestion against the real products and services. Drop what is irrelevant or wrong.

Competitor analysis

Comparing products is the small part. The useful comparison is how the business model is presented, what the site specializes in, and how the digital and physical experience fit together. AI can map that footprint.

What to ask

Ask the model to set your content next to a competitor's and name the gaps. Remember that the answer is only as current as the training data. An up-to-date tool can list direct competitors and indirect ones that sell something similar. Free models are enough for a first pass. Frequent, deeper analysis may need a paid tier. Other AI tools can add reach and influence, which a general model will not measure well.

Content

Natural language processing is useful for getting a complex campaign idea into a first draft. The draft is a start. It is not the page.

What to ask

Ask for content pillars that belong to this business, then throw out what you would not publish. SEO can test titles and meta descriptions for discoverability. The model picks a statistical best fit. That fit is often wrong for the commercial goal, or it pairs things that do not belong together. A person still decides.

User experience

SEO includes whether someone can finish the task on the site or in the app. Pages per session and similar interaction metrics are one read on that.

What to ask

Ask which pages perform, and what customers keep asking. Both should change content and structure. Ask the assistant to judge navigation and to help you read behavior analytics, so the journey is based on what people do, not on the sitemap you intended.

Technical SEO

Technical SEO is whether the page renders and whether navigation works. It is the part of the site the user's task actually runs on.

What to ask

A general read of architecture and technical setup is fine as a supplement. It does not replace an audit by someone who does this work. Standard SEO tools plus the assistant is the useful combination: the tools find the issues, the assistant helps the team act on the ones they can reach.

Used this way, the assistant keeps earlier context, speeds a first draft, and points at journey and SEO problems. It does not replace the product record. For a PIM team, the constraint is still the same: the content the model writes has to match the product information you can stand behind.
