Onedot After Bankruptcy: Relaunched by Exuberance Capital as a PXMIZE Brand

· 2026-10-22 · 6 min read

Onedot, the Zurich vendor of AI software for product data onboarding, went bankrupt in November 2024 and was taken over in February 2025 by Exuberance Capital, the investment company of former Contentserv CEO Armin Dressler. The platform and brand now run under a new company, PXMize Data AG in Kreuzlingen, and Onedot is sold as a brand of Dressler's PXMIZE group. No price was disclosed.

From startup to bankruptcy

Onedot was founded in Zurich in 2014 under the name Wealthport, preparing data for the finance industry. From 2017 it repositioned itself as a supplier to retail and industry, with software that maps supplier product data into a retailer's PIM. Founders Bernhard Bicher and Tobias Widmer raised a first round from Capnamic Ventures, 42CAP, hybris founder Moritz Zimmermann and entrepreneur Dominik Grolimund. In December 2019 Onedot had 20 staff, had just won Conrad Electronic as a customer, and said it could speed up supplier data imports by a factor of ten. It planned a second funding round for 2020.

On 19 November 2024 the bankruptcy court of the Zurich district court opened bankruptcy proceedings against Onedot AG, which has been in liquidation since. Inside Paradeplatz reported that the founders and Dorian Selz, a serial founder who had joined as a co-investor, had halved the roughly 20 staff and searched for new investors without success. Bicher told the paper the product had come to market "very early, probably too early", and that the software was technically demanding and needed heavy investment.

The takeover

Dressler registered PXMize Data AG in Kreuzlingen on 13 February 2025, with himself as chairman of the board and Bicher as board member. On 19 February 2025 Horizont reported that Exuberance Capital was taking over Onedot, that Bicher would stay in charge with his team, and that Onedot would remain a separate brand. It named E/D/E, Interdiscount and Brütsch Rüegger Tools as customers. Onedot published its own announcement on 11 March 2025.

The stated plan came with an investment commitment for the platform and its AI. The focus was to integrate Onedot better with existing PIM, PXM and shop systems and to close process gaps in onboarding, with a more international go-to-market. In April 2025 the new company raised its share capital from CHF 100,000 to CHF 500,000. The ONEDOT trademark is now listed under PXMize Data AG, and Onedot's legal notice names Bicher as CEO and Dressler as chairman.

What has happened since

The owner matters more than the price here. By its own account, Dressler led e-Pro Solutions from 1999 and became co-founder and CEO of Contentserv in 2009. He set up Exuberance Capital as a family office in 2021, invested in the personalisation vendor Heuristic Commerce in 2023 and added the commerce agency Y1 in 2024. In 2025 he sold Contentserv to Centric Software, the PLM vendor owned by Dassault Systèmes, a deal we covered in Dassault Systèmes acquires Contentserv. PXMIZE became operational the same year, and its product chief Ramon Forster is a former CEO and co-owner of the DAM vendor Picturepark.

Onedot now sits in that group. PXMIZE describes its brands as composable technologies that close gaps in PIM, DAM, CDP and DXP systems, with Onedot for onboarding and syndication, aiuno for product question answering and PxmizeAi, a content and personalisation layer that launched in a pilot phase in the second quarter of 2026, with general availability planned for summer 2026. In November 2025 Onedot announced a partnership with Y1, which PXMIZE now calls its premium go-to-market partner and which Dressler chairs. We also hosted a Onedot session in March 2025, two weeks after the announcement, covered in our recap of the Onedot AI mapping demo.

The product scope has widened. Onedot's product page now covers data mining from supplier websites and PDF catalogues, onboarding through a supplier portal, classification to ETIM, ECLASS, GS1, UNSPSC and TecDoc, and syndication to retailers and data pools. Onedot says its models are trained on more than 750 million products from more than 1,000 suppliers, a vendor figure we have not verified.

Why it matters for onboarding buyers

Our reading: Onedot is the clearest case in our coverage of a standalone onboarding vendor that could not fund itself, and of the technology surviving in other hands. The category's economics are hard for a small vendor: the software needs years of training data and engineering before it pays back, which is the reason Bicher gave for the failure. Larger PIM vendors have pulled onboarding into their own products, as in Akeneo's purchase of Unifai, while others build supplier portals of their own, such as novomind's self-service portal.

The new owner keeps Onedot neutral towards PIM vendors in principle. PXMIZE does not sell a PIM, and Onedot still positions itself as a layer that feeds any PIM, ERP or shop system. The difference from before is the group around it. Implementation through an affiliated agency makes projects easier to staff, and it also means Onedot, Y1 and PxmizeAi will often arrive as one proposal.

Integration is one evaluation point among several. A good connector into your PIM moves mapped data. It does not decide who owns the target model or what happens to a value with no home in it. Our guide to the product data process from onboarding to publication shows where onboarding sits in the wider flow.

What changes for customers and buyers

Contracts now run with PXMize Data AG in Kreuzlingen, a company registered in February 2025, and not with Onedot AG, which remains in liquidation.

For new buyers, onboarding tools carry a particular dependency: the mappings and rules built for each supplier are the asset, and they need to be exportable if the tool changes. The test method is unchanged by the new ownership: our piece on bringing your worst supplier file to the demo explains why a vendor's clean sample says little about your own data.
