Where to compare PIM software
Review sites, analyst firms and selection advisors all promise to help you choose a PIM. They are paid by different people and help at different stages. We compared 16 of them, and ourselves, on the same eight criteria.
PIMvendors is one of the options in this table. We show where others are stronger, and every figure links to its source.

How PIM-specific each resource is, and how far it goes into your project

Where PIMvendors fits
What you get from us that is hard to find elsewhere
We are vendor-agnostic, but we do have an opinion. These are the differences you can check yourself.
Independent by structure
We do not implement, resell or sell software, so there is no implementation contract riding on your shortlist.

FAQ
Questions buyers ask about comparing PIM software
What is the best place to compare PIM software?
It depends on the stage. Review sites such as G2 and Capterra show what users think of well-known platforms. Analyst reports from Gartner, Forrester and ISG help validate a choice. An independent selection advisor helps you decide what fits your data, channels and budget. Most buyers combine a free shortlist with one of the other two.
Does Gartner publish a Magic Quadrant for PIM?
Not that we could find. Gartner's most recent PIM research is the Market Guide for Product Information Management Solutions of 22 January 2025, which lists representative vendors without ranking them. Gartner Peer Insights lists 49 PIM products with user reviews.
What is the latest Forrester Wave for PIM?
The Forrester Wave for Product Information Management, Q4 2023, published in December 2023. It scored 11 providers on 23 criteria. In July 2026 Forrester published a PIM Systems Landscape, which is an overview rather than a scored Wave.
Which analyst report on PIM is the most recent?
ISG's Product Information Management Platforms Buyers Guide 2026, with an executive summary dated 12 June 2026. It evaluates 21 providers, and a separate guide covers 8 emerging providers. The full report is gated.
Are G2 and Capterra independent?
They are free for you and paid for by vendors. Capterra says its default Featured Partners sort is ordered by vendors' bids, and G2 shows sponsored placements between listings. Their user reviews are useful. Check the sort order, and read reviews from companies like yours.
Which PIM selection advisors do not implement software?
In this comparison, PIMvendors, Ecommerce Result, SIMIO Consulting, Skopos and Forwaard advise and guide without implementing PIM. Squadra, Start with Data and Sitation offer both selection and implementation, and Earley Information Science supports implementation and migration.
Method
How we built this comparison
We read each organisation's own website and checked every figure on the page listed under Sources, last on 13 October 2026. Where a site blocks automated visits, we used search-engine snippets of its own pages.
Ratings are our assessment of each public offer on eight criteria. Six describe what a mid-market buyer needs from a selection partner; two reward scale, and that is where PIMvendors scores lowest.
Figures quoted from a third party keep that party's currency.
