Perfion Content Store: Keep the Files With the Product Record

Treat the Perfion Content Store as a place to stop hunting files outside the PIM. The store holds product data and digital assets together, with a self-service portal and rights that differ by user group.

What the session covered:

• One place: product data and digital assets, available to marketers, sales, customers and partners.
• Self-service: a portal, with the store tailored per user group. Perfion presented the user rights as broad.
• Scale and AI: Perfion presented the platform as built for large product catalogs, with AI that can work on product descriptions and on data management.

The trade-off is the rights setup. A portal that partners can open is only safe after the groups match the rules you already enforce. Opening it first, and sorting access later, puts the wrong file in front of the wrong partner.

If marketers still pull packshots from a shared drive, trial the portal on one user group. If the files already live in a DAM and the PIM only needs a link, this demo is the wrong job. What DAM is separates the asset system from the product record, which is the split this session tries to close. PIM features and capabilities lists the jobs a PIM is supposed to cover, including who can see which asset. Product data quality and governance is who owns the file and the attribute when the two disagree.
