Stephan Spijkers · 2025-09-03 · Updated 2026-10-17 · 2 min read

On 3 September 2025, Syndigo announced that it had acquired 1WorldSync, a provider of product content and syndication services. The purchase price was not disclosed.
What was announced
- Parties: Syndigo is the buyer and 1WorldSync the target. The combined company is backed by Summit Partners, TJC, L.P. and Battery Ventures, according to Syndigo's press release.
- Value: no price was given. The release describes the combined company as a more than $3.5 billion enterprise. That is the companies' own figure in US dollars, not a deal value.
- Stated scale (company figures): more than 18,000 customers in 60 countries, a network of more than 3,500 retailers, and more than 100 solution integrators and technology partners.
- Stated direction: the release positions the combined company around AI-first product experience management (PXM) and a two-way retail network.
- Advisors: Kirkland & Ellis (legal) and UBS Securities (financial) for Syndigo, Cooley (legal) and Lincoln International (financial) for 1WorldSync.
- Status: the release says Syndigo announced the acquisition, and 1WorldSync's site presents it as part of Syndigo. We have no separate closing date.
Why it matters
This is our reading. Syndigo and 1WorldSync both sell the link between a brand's product data and its retailers, so the deal merges two syndication networks that many suppliers use side by side. For suppliers it can mean fewer connections to maintain. It can also mean less choice and weaker negotiating position on price. The AI claims are positioning until a customer can test them against their own data. For context on similar deals, see the PIM market acquisitions and funding timeline.
What buyers should check
- If you use both networks: ask which connections will be merged, on what timeline, and whether your retailer mappings and item identifiers carry over.
- Ask for pricing protection in writing for the renewal period, since two vendors are becoming one.
- Check where AI features run on your product data, whether it is used to train models, and how to opt out.
