AGENA3000 Acquires SRC System Integrators: What Was Announced

· 2024-11-28 · Updated 2026-10-17 · 2 min read

AGENA3000, a French data management software developer, acquired SRC System Integrators, a Dutch PIM and EDI software provider. According to adviser CFI, the transaction closed on 24 April 2024. The value was not disclosed.

What was announced

  • Parties: the buyer is AGENA3000, headquartered in Cholet, France, part of the holding Centaurus Développement. The target is SRC System Integrators, headquartered in Hoorn, the Netherlands, founded in 1987. The seller was Matcorp Investments, a Dutch family investment office and SRC's majority owner.
  • Stated rationale: per CFI's transaction page, SRC wanted faster growth in adjacent sectors and geographies, and judged that it needed an international strategic partner to scale and to stay ahead of consolidation in PIM and EDI software.
  • Advisers: CFI advised Matcorp Investments and SRC.
  • Terms: no price was published.

Why it matters

This is our reading. SRC's strength is in Benelux FMCG and food retail, where product data has to hold up across borders and channels. Smaller PIM and EDI vendors are taking partners or exits to get scale, and this is one example. Until it shows in delivery, the deal is a change of ownership with a stated strategic fit, not a new product. See the PIM market acquisitions and funding timeline for comparable deals.

What buyers should check

  • If you are an SRC customer: ask whether the implementation team, support contacts and contract terms stay the same.
  • Ask whether AGENA3000's international stack becomes the path for PIM and EDI work that used to stay local, and what that means for your roadmap.
  • If you are choosing a Benelux PIM partner: compare sector depth and local delivery capacity against international reach, and ask for recent references.
