nubix Alternatives: 7 PIM Solutions to Compare

· 2026-10-11 · 9 min read

nubix offers a PIM that is built around the client rather than sold off the shelf. That approach suits some companies for years. Others reopen the decision when they want a standard product, a SaaS subscription or more choice in who implements and supports it. This page covers what nubix offers, why buyers compare alternatives, and seven alternatives ordered by fit for typical nubix buyers. Fit and watch-out notes come from the analyst assessments on our vendor profiles.

What nubix is and who it fits

nubix is a Dutch IT solutions provider, in business since 2011, that offers customized product information management and related digital services. It positions itself as a strategic ICT partner: it tailors its PIM to each client's business processes and existing IT landscape instead of selling a standard off-the-shelf product, and it is offered cloud-hosted or on-premise.

According to our profile, nubix focuses on Dutch and European manufacturers, distributors and retailers in the mid-market and larger, with complex IT infrastructure and product data needs. It suits companies that value a partnership approach, personal service and integration with their existing enterprise systems.

Our profile of nubix does not include an analyst assessment or a capability list yet, so this page does not rate its features. Ask nubix for a demo on your own data and for references with a similar scope.

Why teams look for a nubix alternative

  • You prefer a standard product. A tailored solution follows your processes. A packaged PIM gives you shared releases and documentation, and your processes adapt to it in part. Teams that want the latter compare standard products.
  • You want a SaaS subscription. nubix is offered cloud-hosted or on-premise. Teams that want the vendor to run and update the software as SaaS compare SaaS PIMs.
  • You want to choose the implementation partner separately. nubix combines software, IT expertise and service in one relationship. Teams that want to pick the software and the partner independently look at products with a partner network.
  • Channels and standards need proof. Our profile lists no specific capabilities for nubix. If marketplace connectors, GDSN or ETIM are must-haves, you need documented support, from nubix or from an alternative.

  • Beeyond: best for small and mid-market Benelux companies that want a cloud PIM with a low learning curve.
  • KatanaPIM: best for Benelux merchants and wholesalers that want a SaaS PIM with published pricing.

The alternatives

Perfion

Perfion is a Danish PIM, sold as SaaS, on-premise or cloud-hosted, with a relational product model that stays close to the ERP. It has native integration with Microsoft Dynamics and SAP Business One, a built-in DAM, workflows and print publishing.

Our analyst sees the best fit with mid-market to enterprise manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers with complex catalogs that configure the system through partners and its low-code Actions. For nubix buyers it is a middle path: a standard product, adapted through configuration rather than custom development, with an on-premise option.

Check: it is not a digital shelf or high-volume marketplace suite, and GDSN needs a data pool or middleware. See also our Perfion alternatives.

AtroPIM

AtroPIM is a German open-source PIM and master data hub under GPLv3, also sold as SaaS, that runs on-premise or in the cloud. Our analyst sees the best fit with organizations that need a highly configurable product and master data hub, value self-hosting, and have internal developers or a trusted integrator.

It comes closest to nubix's tailored approach: much of the data model, fields, layouts and API can be configured without code, and because the code is open you choose who makes changes. It includes a DAM, modules for ETIM and BMEcat, and transparent module and support pricing.

Check: verify GDSN before you rely on it for retail, and note that the supplier portal is permissions and process rather than a ready onboarding product.

Bluestone PIM

Bluestone PIM is a Norwegian SaaS PIM built on microservices with an API-only architecture, for mid-market and enterprise manufacturers, distributors and omnichannel retailers with complex product structures and high SKU volumes. It offers validation rules, completeness scoring, workflows, a native DAM and AI tools for enrichment and translation.

It fits nubix buyers whose main need is integration with an existing, complex IT landscape, but who want that through a standard API rather than custom work.

Check: our analyst assessment says to evaluate it on deployment effort, proof of standards support and commercial transparency. It runs as SaaS or cloud-hosted only, with no on-premise option.

Beeyond

Beeyond is a Dutch cloud PIM for small and mid-market companies, active mainly in the Benelux. Its profile describes an intuitive interface with a low learning curve, quick deployment, modular pricing, workflow automation and multilingual content. It connects to ERP systems and shops such as Magento and Shopify through an API, with built-in connectors and export templates for Amazon, Bol.com and print.

It suits Dutch wholesalers, retailers and manufacturers that want a local vendor with a standard product and limited internal IT.

Check: our analyst assessment says to evaluate it on deployment effort, proof of standards support and commercial transparency. Ask for references with your catalog complexity and your ERP.

KatanaPIM

KatanaPIM is a Dutch SaaS PIM with published tier pricing and the API on every plan. Our analyst sees the best fit with mid-market Benelux and EU merchants, wholesalers and distributors on Magento, Shopify or Shopware and an ERP such as Exact, with catalogs full of variants and specifications.

The strengths listed are practical import and mapping tools, workflows and specification groups, and an active release schedule.

Check: GS1, ETIM and GDSN run through partner middleware, and native AI is largely absent, so budget for both separately.

OmniStock

OmniStock is a Dutch PIM for retailers and wholesalers, sold as SaaS or cloud-hosted, with a Magento-centric integration story. Our analyst sees the best fit with Benelux mid-market retailers and wholesalers on Magento that juggle multiple supplier and content feeds and scheduled catalog changes for promotions, optionally together with the OmniStock order management system.

The strengths listed are source data kept separate with traceability, a supplier portal, campaign scheduling and clear package limits for scoping.

Check: it is not a safe pick for an API-first, composable stack without a review of the API package, and marketplace syndication is feed-assisted, often with an integrator.

Crystallize

Crystallize is a Norwegian SaaS backend that combines headless PIM, content and commerce, with a GraphQL API, subscriptions and multi-market pricing. Our analyst sees the best fit with digital-native direct-to-consumer or B2B commerce teams that build their own storefronts and have engineers available.

It suits nubix buyers who want a tailored result but prefer their own developers to build it on a product with an API.

Check: it is not a pure PIM for ERP-centric catalog operations, it has no native GDSN, ETIM or marketplace syndication, and there is no on-premise option.

How to choose, and how to switch

  1. Document what was built for you

List the data model, the customizations, the integrations with ERP, shop and other systems, the processes and the channels. This is the scope any alternative must cover.

  2. Decide between tailored and standard

Write down which processes must stay as they are and which can follow a standard product. That choice decides the shortlist.

  3. Shortlist three and demo with your own data

Give each vendor one real product group, one integration and one channel export. Let the people who maintain product data score the work.

  4. Migrate in slices with a parallel run

Move one product group or channel at a time and compare the output of both systems until it matches. The integrations usually take the longest.

  5. Check the contract

Check notice periods and renewal dates, and agree on data export and handover before you announce the switch.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best nubix alternatives?

Perfion for an ERP-aligned PIM you configure with partners, AtroPIM for an open-source PIM you can adapt and host yourself, and Bluestone PIM for an API-first PIM in a complex integration landscape. Beeyond, KatanaPIM and OmniStock are Dutch standard products, and Crystallize suits teams that build their own storefront.

What is nubix?

nubix is a Dutch IT solutions provider, in business since 2011, that offers customized product information management and related digital services. It tailors its PIM to each client's processes and IT landscape, cloud-hosted or on-premise, for Dutch and European manufacturers, distributors and retailers.

Is there a Dutch alternative to nubix?

Yes. Beeyond, KatanaPIM and OmniStock are Dutch PIM vendors. Beeyond is a cloud PIM for small and mid-market companies, KatanaPIM is a SaaS PIM with published pricing, and OmniStock focuses on retailers and wholesalers on Magento. All three sell a standard product rather than a tailored solution.

Should you choose a tailored PIM or a standard product?

A tailored PIM fits processes that are unusual or tightly bound to an existing IT landscape. A standard product gives you shared releases, documentation and often a choice of implementation partners. Many teams land in between: a standard product, adapted through configuration rather than custom code.

Is there an on-premise alternative to nubix?

Yes. Perfion runs on-premise, cloud-hosted or as SaaS, and AtroPIM is open source and can be self-hosted. Most other alternatives on this page are sold as SaaS or cloud-hosted only.

How do you switch from nubix to another PIM?

Document what was built for you, including the data model, customizations and integrations, and confirm your rights to a full data export. Turn that into requirements, demo three systems with your own data, migrate one product group or channel at a time with a parallel run, and plan around the contract terms.
