Beeyond Alternatives for Product Information Management

· 2025-09-10 · Updated 2026-10-11 · 8 min read

Beeyond is one of the Dutch PIMs that small and mid-sized companies consider when they move product data out of spreadsheets. Teams reopen the choice when the business changes: more markets, more channels, a new webshop platform, or a contract renewal. This guide covers what Beeyond is, why teams look at alternatives, seven options by situation, and how to switch.

What Beeyond is and who it fits

Beeyond is a cloud PIM from the Netherlands that helps companies structure, enrich and distribute product data. It runs as SaaS or cloud-hosted under a proprietary licence, targets small and mid-market organizations, and is active mainly in the Benelux. It covers:

  • Central product data: one place for product information instead of separate files and tools.
  • Channel-specific exports: for webshops, marketplaces and print catalogs, with templates for Bol.com, Amazon and printed brochures.
  • Languages and localization, workflow automation for enrichment, validation and publication, custom attribute sets, and user roles and permissions.
  • Integration through a standard API, CSV and XML import and export, and modular add-ons.

Beeyond fits wholesalers, retailers and manufacturers that want structured product data without the complexity of an enterprise platform, often with limited IT resources. Its main sectors are fashion, electronics, home goods, and food and beverage. One of its customer cases is the webshop Agradi, which manages more than 50,000 articles.

Why teams look for a Beeyond alternative

The reasons below follow from how Beeyond is positioned, not from complaints. Evaluate Beeyond on deployment effort, proof of standards support and commercial transparency, and apply the same test to every alternative here.

  • Growth past the mid-market. Beeyond targets small and mid-market companies. A large catalog across many brands and markets may call for a platform built for that scale.
  • Expansion beyond the Benelux. Beeyond's footprint is the Benelux, with activity in fewer than five countries. If you roll out to new countries, check local partners and support.
  • Industry standards. If ETIM classification, a data pool or retailer formats are mandatory, you want proof that the PIM handles them, not only an export template.
  • Commercial transparency. Some teams prefer a vendor that publishes its prices before the first sales call.
  • A different way of working. Marketplace-first selling, a headless storefront or a Magento shop fed by many supplier feeds each have tools built around them.

The alternatives

KatanaPIM

KatanaPIM is a Dutch SaaS PIM for small and mid-market merchants, wholesalers and distributors, often on Magento, Shopify or Shopware with Exact or a similar ERP. Its strengths are published tier pricing, the API on every plan, practical import and mapping tools, and specification groups for variant-heavy catalogs.

  • Where it differs: the closest match to Beeyond in market and size, with pricing you can read before you talk to sales.
  • Check: GS1, ETIM and GDSN run through partner middleware, and native AI is largely absent, so budget for those separately. More in our KatanaPIM alternatives.

OmniStock

OmniStock is a Dutch PIM for wholesalers, retailers and e-commerce companies that import product data from many suppliers and enrich it with rules. It fits Benelux mid-market retailers and wholesalers on Magento that juggle supplier feeds and scheduled catalog changes, sometimes next to the OmniStock order management system.

  • Where it differs: data from each supplier stays traceable to its source, and Magento is its home ground.
  • Check: review the API before you put it in a composable stack, and expect marketplace syndication to be feed-assisted, often with an integrator.

Skwirrel

Skwirrel is a Dutch SaaS PIM for technical products. It fits technical wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers in the Benelux and DACH where ETIM classification and exchange with 2BA or a similar data pool are mandatory, connected to an ERP and to Magento or WooCommerce.

  • Where it differs: deep ETIM and data pool support, a data quality dashboard and transparent entry pricing.
  • Check: it is the wrong tool for GS1-led consumer goods and marketplace-first selling, and it is a small vendor, so validate service levels. See our Skwirrel alternatives.

ProductFlow

ProductFlow is a Dutch PIM and marketplace management platform that manages listing content per marketplace, together with offers, orders and repricing. It fits European marketplace-led merchants best, especially on Bol.com, where ProductFlow is a Gold Partner.

  • Where it differs: content is built per marketplace rather than in one central data model first, which suits sellers without a webshop or ERP as the source of truth.
  • Check: it is not a fit for GDSN, ETIM, digital product passport or master data programs, and its workflow and DAM depth is limited.

Syndy

Syndy is a Dutch PIM and DAM platform, part of the Icecat group, built for content exchange between brands, suppliers and retailers. It maps product content to retailer-specific formats and scores completeness, with FMCG, DIY, toys and healthcare among its sectors.

  • Where it differs: it is built around the retailer as recipient, while Beeyond is built around your own channels.
  • Check: evaluate it on deployment effort, proof of standards support and commercial transparency. Ask which of your retailers it reaches today.

Bluestone PIM

Bluestone PIM is a Norwegian SaaS PIM on a microservice, API-first architecture, for mid-market and enterprise manufacturers, distributors and retailers with large catalogs across markets, brands and channels. It models variant groups, product families and bundles, and includes a DAM and AI tools for content and translation.

  • Where it differs: built for a larger scale than Beeyond and for a composable commerce stack.
  • Check: deployment effort, proof of standards support and commercial terms. Deploying Bluestone PIM is estimated to take longer than deploying Beeyond.

Crystallize

Crystallize is a Norwegian headless backend that combines PIM, content and commerce behind a GraphQL API. It fits digital-native direct-to-consumer and B2B commerce teams that build custom storefronts and have engineers available.

  • Where it differs: product data, content and commerce sit in one backend for a storefront you build yourself, while Beeyond feeds the shop and channels you already have.
  • Check: it is not a pure PIM for ERP-centric catalog work, and it has no native GDSN, ETIM or marketplace syndication.

How to choose and switch

  1. Write down why you are leaving

Growth, new countries, a standard such as ETIM, marketplaces, a new shop platform or price. One or two reasons decide the shortlist.

  2. Inventory what Beeyond does today

List the attribute sets, languages, workflows, user roles, exports per channel and the integrations with your ERP, webshop and marketplaces. That list becomes your requirements. The PIM RFP guide helps turn it into questions for vendors.

  3. Shortlist two or three systems

Match each reason to the alternatives above, and drop any system that fails a hard requirement on paper.

  4. Demo with your own data

Give each vendor one real product family and two real channels. Let the people who maintain product data score the work.

  5. Migrate per channel, then end the contract

Export from Beeyond through CSV, XML or the API, rebuild the data model in the new system, and run both side by side per channel until the output matches. End the Beeyond contract only after the last feed has moved.

Frequently asked questions

What is Beeyond?

Beeyond is a Dutch cloud PIM for small and mid-market companies. It brings product data together, manages attribute sets, languages, workflows and user roles, and exports to webshops, marketplaces such as Bol.com and Amazon, and print. It runs as SaaS or cloud-hosted and is active mainly in the Benelux.

What are the best Beeyond alternatives?

It depends on why you are looking. KatanaPIM is the closest like-for-like option. OmniStock fits Magento retailers and wholesalers with many supplier feeds, Skwirrel technical wholesale with ETIM and 2BA, ProductFlow marketplace sellers and Syndy brands that supply retailers. Bluestone PIM fits companies that have outgrown the mid-market, and Crystallize teams that build their own storefront.

Which Beeyond alternative is the closest like-for-like?

KatanaPIM. Both are Dutch SaaS PIMs for small and mid-market merchants, wholesalers and manufacturers, with exports to webshops and marketplaces. KatanaPIM publishes its tier pricing and includes the API on every plan. Compare the two on your own data model and the connectors you need.

Is there a Beeyond alternative for technical wholesale?

Skwirrel is built for technical wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers in the Benelux and DACH that must classify products in ETIM and exchange data with 2BA or a similar data pool. If ETIM is not part of your job, it is less of a fit.

Which Beeyond alternative fits marketplace sellers?

ProductFlow is built around marketplaces such as Bol.com, Amazon and Kaufland, with listing content, offers, orders and repricing in one tool. It is not a fit for GDSN, ETIM or master data programs, and its workflow and DAM depth is limited.

What if we have outgrown Beeyond?

If your catalog, number of markets or number of brands has grown past the mid-market, look at Bluestone PIM, an API-first SaaS PIM for mid-market and enterprise companies with large catalogs. Check deployment effort, proof of standards support and commercial terms before you sign.

How do you migrate away from Beeyond?

List the channels, exports, attribute sets, workflows and integrations Beeyond runs today. Export the data through CSV, XML or the API, test the new system with one product family and your real channels, run both systems side by side per channel, and end the contract only when every feed runs from the new PIM.
