Best PIM for Adobe Commerce (Magento) and Salesforce Commerce Cloud in 2026

Last updated: 3 November 2026.

The PIMs that integrate best with both Adobe Commerce (Magento) and Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) are Akeneo, Salsify, inriver and AtroPIM: each documents its own connector for both platforms. Akeneo is the only one we found with a vendor-published listing on both the Adobe Commerce Marketplace and Salesforce AppExchange. If you run only Adobe Commerce, Sales Layer, Bluestone PIM and Centric PXM also document their own connectors.

"Best" still depends on your catalog. A connector that handles a simple catalog well can break on configurable products across ten store views, or on a Commerce Cloud variation model. This page lists what each vendor documents for each platform, explains the connector types, and gives you the questions to test in a demo. For the data model on the Adobe side, read our Magento PIM guide first.

Which PIM integrates best with Adobe Commerce or Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

The table lists, per PIM, the connector we found for each platform and a link to its listing. We list a connector only when the PIM vendor's own page or the platform's own marketplace shows it. Where we found neither, the cell says not documented. That does not mean an integration is impossible: an integrator can build one against the APIs of both platforms. It means you cannot buy or install a documented connector today.

The order follows documented coverage: PIMs with connectors for both platforms first, then one platform, then neither. It is not a quality score. All listings were checked on 3 November 2026.

Two things stand out. First, the Adobe Commerce Marketplace is a weaker signal than AppExchange for PIM vendors: a search there on 3 November 2026 returned no listing for Salsify, inriver, Stibo Systems or Syndigo, even though Salsify and inriver document connectors on their own sites. Second, Commerce Cloud support is concentrated. Outside Akeneo, Salsify, inriver, AtroPIM and Informatica, we found no PIM vendor that documents a B2C Commerce connector.

What do native, marketplace app, partner-built and API only mean?

The connector type tells you who builds it, who supports it and who you call when an upgrade breaks it.

TypeWhat it meansWhat to ask
NativeBuilt or published by the PIM vendorWhich versions of the shop platform are supported, and how fast new releases are covered
Marketplace appListed on the Adobe Commerce Marketplace or AppExchange, here always under the PIM vendor's own nameWhether the listed version matches the one you would install, and what the add-on costs
Partner-builtBuilt and maintained by an agency or integrator, sometimes promoted by the PIM vendorWho maintains it, under which support terms, and how many live customers use it
API onlyNo packaged connector: an integrator or an iPaaS connects the two APIsWho builds and owns the integration, and what it costs to run each year
Feed exportThe PIM produces a file or feed URL in the shop's import formatHow updates are scheduled, and which tool imports the feed

Every PIM in the table has an API, and so do both commerce platforms. Adobe Commerce offers REST, GraphQL and an import API, as our Magento guide explains. So "not documented" is a cost question, not a yes or no: without a connector, you pay for the build and its upkeep.

What do the documented connectors actually sync?

The listings differ in detail. These are the points each vendor or marketplace page states, checked on 3 November 2026.

  • Akeneo for Adobe Commerce. The free Community connector, built with Akeneo's partner Dn'D and formerly called PIMGento 2 API, exports categories, families, attributes, options, products and product models (variants), with manual or automatic imports and multi-website and multi-store catalogs. It writes data straight into the Adobe Commerce database through Akeneo's API. The Enterprise version adds assets and reference entities and lists Adobe Commerce 2.4.0 to 2.4.9.
  • Akeneo for Commerce Cloud. The cartridge is built by Akeneo and installed on the SFCC side. It imports master, variation and simple products, attributes, categories, associations, price books and assets, one way from PIM to SFCC. Akeneo's help center lists limits worth testing: SFCC enum attributes cannot be variation axes, localized attributes fill only the configured languages, and very large master products can exceed a JavaScript string limit. The App Store listing names the Advanced and Premium packages.
  • Salsify for Commerce Cloud. Salsify's partner page describes a preconfigured cartridge that uploads standard catalogs, creates and updates products, supports multiple regions and storefronts, and carries images, category assignments, custom attributes, variations and bundles.
  • inriver for Adobe Commerce. The adapter bulk-imports product content into Adobe Commerce sites, stores and store views, built around Magento's standard catalog import. It reports each import result back to inriver through its REST API.
  • inriver for Commerce Cloud. inriver describes a ready-to-go adapter that publishes products and resources from inriver to Salesforce Commerce. The page does not describe a flow back.
  • AtroPIM. The Commerce Cloud module syncs products and variants with prices, inventory, attributes and categories, plus customers and orders, one-way or two-way, through the B2C Commerce API. The Adobe Commerce Adapter is described as two-way. AtroCore sells configuration separately.
  • Bluestone PIM. The marketplace app syncs descriptions, media, translations and product relations, with field matching and a sync history. The Vaimo connector is event-driven and covers categories, attributes, simple and configurable products and assets, for multi-store and multi-language setups.
  • Sales Layer. The plugin imports categories, products and variants as configurable products, and you choose which stores to update. Stock is set only when an item is created. The stable 2.7.x branch lists Adobe Commerce 2.4.4 to 2.4.8-p2.
  • Pimcore. The Divante connector sends products and categories, including simple, configurable and grouped products and media galleries, from Pimcore to Magento 2, with multistore support. Pimcore's page lists Pimcore 5.2 and above, so ask which connector a partner uses on a current Pimcore version.
  • Plytix. You map attributes to a Magento template and get a file to upload or a feed URL for a partner tool. Only complete products are sent.
  • Informatica Product 360. The accelerator is an export template: Product 360 writes catalog files that move to Commerce Cloud over WebDAV, on demand or on a schedule, as full or delta loads. The listing names Product 360 7.1.04 and Commerce Cloud 15.1.0, so check it against your versions. Salesforce now owns Informatica; see what that means for Product 360 buyers.

Which PIM fits which commerce setup?

  • You run both Adobe Commerce and Commerce Cloud, for example after an acquisition or a replatforming: shortlist Akeneo, Salsify, inriver and AtroPIM, and test both connectors in the same demo.
  • You run Adobe Commerce with many store views: compare Akeneo, inriver, Bluestone PIM and Sales Layer on store view mapping and configurable products. Add Pimcore if you want an open-core platform and have a partner who maintains the connector.
  • You run Commerce Cloud B2C: start from the AppExchange cartridges of Akeneo, Salsify and inriver. Consider AtroPIM if you want two-way sync or self-hosting.
  • You are an enterprise with MDM needs (Stibo Systems, Syndigo, Informatica): expect an integration project rather than an installable connector, and budget for it.
  • You are a small team on Magento: Plytix's feed export or Sales Layer's plugin may be enough. Compare the full market in the best PIM software.

If you are moving to a headless front end on either platform, the PIM's API matters as much as the connector. Our guide to headless and composable commerce with a PIM covers that architecture.

What should you check in a demo?

A sales demo shows a clean catalog on a clean store. Ask each vendor to run these checks with a sample of your own products, on your platform version.

AreaWhat to ask the vendor to showWhy it matters
Catalog structureHow PIM families map to Adobe Commerce attribute sets or to the SFCC master catalog and storefront catalogsA mismatch here causes most failed imports
Variants and configurable productsA configurable product (Adobe) or a master with variation attributes (SFCC), with your real variant axesBoth platforms restrict which attribute types can define a variant
Multi-store and store viewsOne product with different values per website, store view or SFCC siteMany connectors handle one store well and several stores poorly
LocalesTranslated values landing in the right store view or locale, and what happens to the default localeAkeneo documents that localized attributes leave the SFCC default locale empty
Sync direction and frequencyWhether sync is one-way or two-way, scheduled or event-driven, full or delta, and how errors are reportedTwo-way sync without clear field ownership overwrites data
AssetsHow images and documents reach the shop: as files, as links to a DAM, and in which image view typesAsset handling differs per connector and per edition
Prices and inventoryWhether the connector touches price books or stock at all, and how you switch that offThe ERP usually owns both; two owners cause wrong prices on the site
Versions and upgradesWhich Adobe Commerce or SFCC versions are supported, and who tests the connector after a platform upgradeConnectors lag behind platform releases

Who should own prices, stock and product content?

Keep one owner per field. Product content (names, specifications, translations, images, category structure) belongs in the PIM. Price and stock usually come from the ERP, and orders and customers stay in the commerce platform. Our article on the commerce stack explains who owns what between ERP, PIM, OMS and the shop. When a connector offers price or stock sync, use it only if the PIM is really the source, or switch it off.

How we evaluated

We took the big-name PIM vendors buyers ask about, plus AtroPIM, and looked for a connector per platform in two places only: the PIM vendor's own pages (product pages, help center, app store, partner marketplace, official GitHub repository) and the platform's own marketplace (the Adobe Commerce Marketplace at commercemarketplace.adobe.com and Salesforce AppExchange). We searched the Adobe Commerce Marketplace for each vendor name. We classified each connector by who builds or publishes it, and took the sync details from the listing itself. Agency pages, iPaaS directories and competitors' blogs were not used as evidence for a connector. All pages were checked on 3 November 2026.

PIMvendors is an independent PIM selection platform. The table order reflects documented coverage of the two platforms, not a rating of connector quality. Connectors change with each platform release, so confirm versions with the vendor before you sign.

Frequently asked questions

Which PIM integrates best with Adobe Commerce (Magento)?

Akeneo, inriver, Salsify, Sales Layer, Bluestone PIM and AtroPIM all document their own Adobe Commerce connector. Akeneo and Bluestone PIM also have a listing under their own name on the Adobe Commerce Marketplace. Which one integrates best for you depends on how well the connector handles your attribute sets, configurable products and store views, so test that with your own data.

Which PIM integrates best with Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

Akeneo, Salsify and inriver each publish a B2C Commerce cartridge on Salesforce AppExchange under their own name. AtroPIM documents its own module for the B2C Commerce API, and Informatica publishes a Product 360 export accelerator for Commerce Cloud. On 3 November 2026 we found no Commerce Cloud connector documented by Stibo Systems (B2C), Syndigo, Pimcore, Bluestone PIM, Plytix or Sales Layer.

Is there a PIM with connectors for both Adobe Commerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

Yes. Akeneo, Salsify, inriver and AtroPIM document connectors for both. Akeneo is the only one we found with listings under its own name on both the Adobe Commerce Marketplace and Salesforce AppExchange, checked on 3 November 2026.

What is the difference between a native connector and a partner-built connector?

A native connector is built or published by the PIM vendor, which usually means the vendor supports it and updates it with new releases. A partner-built connector comes from an agency or integrator. It can work just as well, but support, pricing and upgrades depend on that partner, so ask who maintains it and for which versions.

Does a PIM connector sync prices and inventory?

Some do. Akeneo's Commerce Cloud connector imports price books, and AtroPIM's Commerce Cloud module covers prices and inventory. Sales Layer's Adobe Commerce plugin updates stock only when it creates new items. In most stacks the ERP owns price and stock, so decide the owner before you switch these features on.

Do I need a connector if the PIM has an API?

Not always. Adobe Commerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud both expose APIs, so an integrator or an iPaaS can connect almost any PIM. A maintained connector saves you that build and its upkeep, which matters most when you run several store views, sites or locales.
