Centric PXM, formerly Contentserv, is the product experience management suite of Centric Software, a Dassault Systèmes subsidiary that agreed to buy Contentserv in February 2025. It combines PIM and DAM with content syndication through Centric Shoppingfeed, digital shelf analytics and an Onboarding Portal for supplier data. It is aimed at brands, manufacturers, retailers and distributors, and Centric says it connects natively to Centric PLM and its planning and pricing products.
Viamedici
In its own words “All your Enterprise Information in one place”28
A privately held German vendor, founded in 1999 and based in Ettlingen. Its EPIM/5 platform combines multidomain MDM, PIM, DAM and product configuration (CPQ) with native SAP connectivity. Its industry pages centre on manufacturing sectors such as automotive, electronics, building products and tools.

What they have in common
Read the differences below against this common ground. Both are credible options for the same broad job.
- Both have German roots: Contentserv was founded in Germany in 2000, and Viamedici, based in Ettlingen, in 1999.
- Both cover the product record with digital asset management, a portal for supplier data and digital shelf features.
- Both have a Digital Product Passport offer: Centric DPP as a standalone Centric product, and Sustain360° at Viamedici.
- Both work with InBetween for print: Centric PXM through InBetween's Digital Publishing Connector, and Viamedici, which lists InBetween as a partner next to Codeware and priint.

Centric PXM keeps to product content, with Centric DAM, Centric Shoppingfeed, Centric DSA and the Onboarding Portal as modules and no print module of its own. Viamedici runs VIA/PIM360° on its EPIM/5 platform next to VIA/MDM for suppliers, customers, accounts, markets and regions, VIA/DAM and product configuration (CPQ), with print among its advanced applications.

02 · How they differData model and governance
Centric PXM models hierarchies, relationships, variants and regional assortments, with a paid Classification Library for ETIM and ECLASS and built-in workflows for tasks and approvals. Viamedici uses a configurable data model in a structured hierarchy, with a configurator for products with hundreds of attributes and variants, a DQI application and predefined BPMN workflows with four-eyes approvals.
How products, variants and relationships are modelled, and how each platform keeps data complete and approved. This decides how much of your catalogue fits without workarounds.

03 · How they differSyndication and channels
Centric PXM syndicates through Centric Shoppingfeed, with 1,000+ endpoints such as Amazon, eBay, TikTok Shop and Google Shopping, and names platforms such as Shopify, Magento and VTEX. Viamedici syndicates from VIA/PIM360° to marketplaces such as Amazon and Zalando, retailer portals and EDI, publishes no commerce connector list and, from Update 5, pushes changes to marketplaces in real time through its Event Hub.
How product content leaves the PIM: to your own webshop, to marketplaces and retailers, and to commerce platforms. If the number of channels is your bottleneck, this factor weighs more than the editing screens.

04 · How they differAI features
Centric PXM states over 75 AI use cases and a paid AI Connector on the customer's own model account, and Centric announced Centric AI and Centric AI MCP for its portfolio in September 2026. Viamedici added its Data Expert chat assistant in October 2026 and lists AI data quality monitoring and automatic classification, with the SAM assistant and an MCP server in development.

05 · How they differArchitecture and integrations
Centric PXM is SaaS without a named host cloud or published stack, integrating through REST APIs, connectors and a marketplace of apps, with no SAP-certified connector we could find. Viamedici runs EPIM/5 on AWS, Microsoft Azure, its own sovereign cloud or on premises, with a Universal API, an Event Hub and native RFC connectivity to SAP ECC 6, S/4HANA and SAP CRM, and describes EPIM/5 as SAP-certified.
How each platform is hosted, built, extended and connected to ERP, commerce and DAM systems. This is where IT teams spend most of their evaluation time.

Neither publishes prices, packages or a price unit. Centric PXM is sold as SaaS, with marketplace apps marked free or paid, while Viamedici presents EPIM/5 as modules and offers on-premises and hybrid installs.

Centric PXM lists 56 partners in two types, Service & Support and Technology, and partners sell apps in its marketplace. Viamedici cites 30 international partners in Platinum, Gold and Registered tiers, with valantic CEC, INFOLOX and Abilex at Platinum level, and we found no partner app store.

In the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for PIM, Gartner's report places Centric PXM, listed as Centric Software, as a Niche Player, and Viamedici announced a Visionary placement. Viamedici also cites an IDC Leader placement for 2024-2025 and a Niche Player placement in the 2026 Gartner MDM edition, while Centric PXM's latest stated Forrester placement is Strong Performer in 2023, as Contentserv.

The differences show up in scope and ownership: Centric PXM stays with product content inside Centric Software's wider portfolio, while Viamedici, privately held, runs PIM next to MDM, DAM and CPQ on EPIM/5.
Centric PXM, with Centric Shoppingfeed, its Onboarding Portal and native links to Centric PLM, suits brands, manufacturers, retailers and distributors that want product content connected to the product lifecycle and run as SaaS. Viamedici's EPIM/5, with master data, product configuration and native SAP connectivity on one platform, suits manufacturers that want product and master data in one place, in the cloud of their choice or on premises. Neither profile matters unless it answers a requirement you can name.

Viamedici offers native RFC connectivity to SAP ECC 6, S/4HANA and SAP CRM, with bidirectional mass exchange of material records, and describes EPIM/5 as SAP-certified. Centric PXM names SAP among the ERP systems it connects to through connectors and APIs, and we found no SAP-certified connector. Ask both to show a material sync with your own SAP system.
