Centric PXM vs Informatica Product 360
A product experience suite and a PIM beside multidomain MDM. How Centric PXM, formerly Contentserv, and Informatica Product 360 differ on scope, data model, channels, AI, architecture and pricing, from public sources only.
Same category, two different emphases
Centric PXM
In its own words “AI-powered product experience management”9
Centric PXM, formerly Contentserv, is the product experience management suite of Centric Software, a Dassault Systèmes subsidiary that agreed to buy Contentserv in February 2025. It combines PIM and DAM with content syndication through Centric Shoppingfeed, digital shelf analytics and an Onboarding Portal for supplier data. It is aimed at brands, manufacturers, retailers and distributors, and Centric says it connects natively to Centric PLM and its planning and pricing products.
Informatica Product 360
In its own words “AI needs trusted context. It starts with MDM”34
A US data management vendor, owned by Salesforce since November 2025 and now trading as Informatica from Salesforce. Its master data offering combines Multidomain MDM and packaged 360 applications, run as SaaS on its Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) with CLAIRE AI, and Product 360, a PIM that also runs on-premises.

“Decide whether product content is the whole programme or one domain among several. That answer narrows this choice faster than any feature list.”
What they have in common
Read the differences below against this common ground. Both are credible options for the same broad job.
- Both now belong to a larger software group: Centric PXM to Centric Software, a Dassault Systèmes subsidiary, and Informatica to Salesforce.
- Both pair the PIM with a supplier portal and a DAM component of their own: the Onboarding Portal and Centric DAM, and the Supplier Portal and Media Manager.
- Both offer a GDSN item for the PIM: a free GDSN Food & Beverage data model in the Centric PXM Marketplace, and a GDSN Accelerator add-on for Product 360.
- Neither publishes list prices or offers an open-source edition.
- Both list ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27017 and SOC 2 Type 2, for Centric Software as a whole and for Informatica's cloud services.

Factor by factor
Eight factors, each with how the two approaches differ. Open a factor for the sourced facts and the questions to ask both vendors. Nothing here is scored.

01 · How they differProduct scope and packaging
Centric PXM covers product content only, with Centric DAM, Centric Shoppingfeed, Centric DSA and an Onboarding Portal around the PIM and native links to Centric PLM. Informatica sells Product 360 next to Multidomain MDM SaaS for customer, supplier, material and location data, with a Supplier Portal, Media Manager as a separate DAM component and no channel analytics in the Product 360 line-up.
What each vendor sells around the product record, and how it is packaged. Packaging decides what is in the licence, what costs extra, and who you call when something breaks.
Core PIM
Master data beyond products
Product content only: no customer, supplier or location domains in the Centric PXM line-up.1
Supplier onboarding
Digital assets
Centric DAM, with AI tagging, similarity search, versioning and rights-checked delivery per channel.2
Syndication
Channel performance analytics
Centric DSA tracks prices, availability, content, ratings and sentiment, and sends weak SKUs back to the PIM.4
Sharing with partners

Not published: no statement on a portal for sharing catalogues with retailers or distributors.
Print and publishing
No print module in the Centric PXM line-up. Partner apps, such as InBetween's Digital Publishing Connector, produce catalogues and data sheets, including InDesign layouts.11619
Not published: no statement on print or catalogue publishing for Product 360.
Other modules
Centric DPP, a standalone Digital Product Passport product from September 2026, with native connections to Centric PXM and Centric PLM.14
Ask both vendors
- Which of our requirements are in the base subscription, and which are separate modules, add-ons or partner apps?
- Who supports a partner app when it breaks: you, the partner or us?
- Can we add a module later without a new implementation project?
02 · How they differData model and governance
Centric PXM models hierarchies, attributes, validations and relationships with variants and regional assortments, and builds models from ETIM and ECLASS through a paid Classification Library app. Product 360 uses a three-tier model of products, variants and items with classification structures, references, kits and characteristics, a built-in data quality engine and BPM workflows in ActiveVOS through its BPM Accelerator.
How products, variants and relationships are modelled, and how each platform keeps data complete and approved. This decides how much of your catalogue fits without workarounds.
Modelling approach
Data quality
Workflow and governance
Built-in workflows for tasks, approvals and collaboration, with role-based access and permissions.2
Ask both vendors
- Model our three hardest products live: a configurable item, a bundle and a spare part with fitment data.
- How do completeness rules differ per channel and per locale?
- What does a change to the data model cost once we are live?
03 · How they differSyndication and channels
Centric PXM syndicates through Centric Shoppingfeed, which reaches 1,000+ endpoints such as Amazon, eBay, TikTok Shop and Google Shopping and names commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento and VTEX. Product 360 works with export templates and delta exports, reaches 1WorldSync and atrify through its GDSN Accelerator, pairs with Productsup for marketplaces and offers a free export template for Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
How product content leaves the PIM: to your own webshop, to marketplaces and retailers, and to commerce platforms. If the number of channels is your bottleneck, this factor weighs more than the editing screens.
Delivery to retailers and marketplaces
Ask both vendors
- Show a live feed to one marketplace we use, including what happens when the channel rejects an item.
- Which channel connectors do you maintain yourselves, and which do partners maintain?
- When a retailer changes its template, who updates the mapping, and at what cost?
04 · How they differAI features
Centric PXM cites over 75 AI use cases and a paid AI Connector on the customer's own model account, while Centric AI MCP, announced in September 2026, does not say what it exposes or when it is available. Informatica's Data Quality Agent and Headless Data Management with native MCP support are generally available from Spring 2026, and the CLAIRE Product Experience Agent for Product 360 is in private preview.

- Run the enrichment on ten of our real products and show what a reviewer still has to correct.
- Where is our data processed, and is it used to train models?
05 · How they differArchitecture and integrations
Centric PXM is SaaS with REST APIs, connectors and a marketplace of free and paid apps, does not publish which cloud hosts it or what it is built on, and names SAP among its ERP connections. Product 360 is a Java server cluster on Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle that runs on-premises, in Informatica's Cloud Hosted Service or as Product 360 SaaS on IDMC, and Informatica's Material 360 and Supplier 360 extensions exchange records with SAP ECC and S/4HANA in batch jobs.
How each platform is hosted, built, extended and connected to ERP, commerce and DAM systems. This is where IT teams spend most of their evaluation time.

SAP S/4HANA
Centric PXM names SAP among the ERP systems it connects to through connectors and APIs. We found no SAP-certified connector.1
Ask both vendors
- Which connectors for our ERP and commerce platform are yours, and which are built by partners?
- What are the API rate limits, and how long does a bulk import of our full catalogue take?
- Where is our data hosted, and can we choose the region?
06 · How they differPricing and licensing
Neither publishes list prices or offers open source. Centric PXM names no packages or pricing unit and points to a demo request; Informatica sells cloud services in Informatica Processing Units, also sells MDM per domain on a records basis, publishes no metric for on-premises Product 360 and lets customers install it on Windows or Linux servers.

No packages: Informatica Processing Units (IPUs) give access to all eligible cloud services. MDM can also be bought per domain on a records basis.40
Pricing unit
Not published: no statement on whether price follows products, users, channels or modules.
Cloud services draw on IPUs, metered by use, and MDM is also sold per domain on a records basis. No metric is published for on-premises Product 360.40

Ask both vendors
- Which metrics drive the price: products, users, channels, locales, API calls or modules?
- How are renewals priced, and is there a cap on increases?
- What does year three cost if our catalogue doubles?
07 · How they differPartners and implementation
Centric PXM lists 56 partners in two types, Service & Support Partners and Technology Partners, and partners sell marketplace apps such as SAWS shop connectors and InBetween's Digital Publishing Connector. Informatica names global system integrators such as Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte and TCS and gives channel partners Distributor, Platinum, Gold and Silver badges, and we found no partner app store.

Where each tends to fit
Teams tend to shortlist Centric PXM when
- product content has to reach many marketplaces through one syndication product, with marketplace orders synced
- the team wants digital shelf analytics that track prices, ratings and sentiment and send weak SKUs back to the PIM
- product content should connect natively to Centric PLM, or to Centric's planning and pricing products
- industrial catalogues should follow ETIM or ECLASS through a ready-made classification app
Teams tend to shortlist Informatica Product 360 when
- product data has to link with customer, supplier and material data in a multidomain MDM from the same vendor
- the PIM has to run on-premises, on Windows or Linux servers, or in a service hosted by the vendor
- material and supplier records have to move between SAP ECC or S/4HANA and the master data platform
- the webshop runs on Salesforce Commerce Cloud, for which Informatica offers a free export template

Expert view
Centric PXM or Informatica Product 360: it depends on your requirements
Ownership is the first thing Centric PXM and Informatica Product 360 have in common: both now sit inside a larger group, Centric PXM within Centric Software, a Dassault Systèmes company, and Informatica within Salesforce. Both pair the PIM with a supplier portal and a DAM component, but they fit different landscapes: Centric PXM as a product content suite next to Centric PLM, and Product 360 next to Informatica's Multidomain MDM, with on-premises and hosted options.
Centric PXM's channel syndication, shelf analytics and native connection to Centric PLM suit teams whose product content should flow from Centric PLM to the digital shelf in one portfolio. Product 360's three-tier model, deployment choices and links to customer, supplier and material data in Informatica's MDM suit teams that treat product data as one part of a wider data management estate. Each of these only counts if it maps to a requirement you can name.
What works best for you depends on your unique requirements. Decide first whether product data stands alone or belongs to a wider master data programme, then test both with your own products, suppliers and channels. When you are ready, drop us a line: we are happy to help you plan those demos, vendor-neutral.
Independent advice that starts from your requirements, not from a platform.

Frequently asked questions
What is the main difference between Centric PXM and Informatica Product 360?
Centric PXM, formerly Contentserv, is a SaaS product experience suite for product content, with Centric DAM, Centric Shoppingfeed, Centric DSA and native links to Centric PLM. Informatica, owned by Salesforce since November 2025, sells Product 360, a PIM that runs on-premises, in its Cloud Hosted Service or as Product 360 SaaS on IDMC, next to Multidomain MDM for customer, supplier, material and location data. Which difference matters depends on the scope of your programme and where you want to host.
What has changed since Contentserv became Centric PXM?
Centric Software, a Dassault Systèmes subsidiary, agreed to buy Contentserv in February 2025, and Investcorp, majority owner since 2019, agreed to sell at an enterprise value of €220 million, according to Investcorp. The suite now trades as Centric PXM, and Gartner's 2026 Magic Quadrant for PIM lists it as Centric Software. In September 2026 Centric launched Centric DPP, with native connections to Centric PXM and Centric PLM, and announced Centric AI and Centric AI MCP for its whole portfolio.
Do Centric PXM and Informatica publish their prices?
No. Centric PXM publishes no prices or packages, and its pages point to a demo request. Informatica quotes on request, shows sample price ranges per use case and sells cloud services in Informatica Processing Units, and it publishes no metric for on-premises Product 360. Ask both which metrics drive cost and compare offers over three to five years.
Can you run Centric PXM or Product 360 on-premises?
Centric PXM is sold as SaaS, and we found no current statement on an on-premise or self-hosted licence; Centric's security page lists AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and its own data centres without saying which hosts Centric PXM. Product 360 can be installed on-premises on Windows or Linux servers, run in Informatica's Cloud Hosted Service, or used as Product 360 SaaS on IDMC. If hosting is a hard requirement, ask both to confirm the options in writing.
Which one fits a company that also needs customer or supplier master data?
Informatica's Multidomain MDM SaaS covers customer, supplier, material and location data, and Informatica says Product 360 links product data with customer, supplier and material data. Centric PXM covers product content only, so those domains would stay in other systems, while Centric says it connects natively to Centric PLM and its planning and pricing products. Decide the scope of your programme before you compare demos.
How do you choose between Centric PXM and Informatica Product 360?
Write down your requirements first, including whether product data is part of a wider master data programme. Then run a scripted demo in which both vendors model your own products, import a real supplier file and publish to one of your channels. Compare the offers over three to five years, including modules, accelerators, marketplace apps and partner work.

How this comparison was built
We compared the two vendors on public information only: their own websites, documentation and press releases, plus reporting that names its source. We did not run either product for this page and we do not score or rank. Where a vendor does not publish something, the page says so instead of guessing.
We have a relationship with every vendor on our platform. None gets preferential treatment: all are compared in the same way, on the same factors, for our customers.
